Ok lets assume that you have your nice new shiny blog, its full of great content and you have some products to recommend on your site.Wait theirs a problem, how are you going to stop your self or more to the point your blog just becoming another piece of the internet who nobody visits?

Imagine that you have a real world business that retails socks ask yourself would you retail a higher percentage on a main street or some back streetWell exactly. Now with the internet you have the weird situation that your shop (site) has the capacity to move!!! Unlike the sock shop example by doing certain things correctly your site can move into more prominent position on the search engines and be in the virtual high street.
Be consistent
Google likes consistency, why is this because Google is in the business of providing people with relevant information, For example if your blogs subject is flowers but most of your content on the site is about bikes, googles attitude is this will not give good search results. So it is good to be clear from the beginning what are you promoting or selling and where possible have this reflected in your domain name and within your blog such as your categories.
Get linking
Get links, to your site Google sees this as a sign people are interested in what you have to say. The ways that you get links are too numerous to mention in this article, but it is worth investing time and effort learning how to link build.
Become a writer
Write articles and submit them to various article directories with a link back to your site this does two key things gives you links and visitors to your blog.
