Aromatherapy Soap Recipe: Make Your Own at Home
Whether you want an aromatherapy bath soap or any other type of aromatherapy product, you could just go out and buy it, but why not stay in and save money and just use your own aromatherapy soap recipe to make your own products right at home? This is a really great idea and one that you should at least be interested in trying. There are more than enough aromatherapy soap recipes to choose from, and here are a few that are really effective.
Hard White Soap
If you want to start with the most basic aromatherapy soap recipe, then this is the perfect beginner’s point. This recipe is for basic hard white soap, and although there is not much scent in it, it is at least going to show you how you make soap and then when you move on and start using another aromatherapy soap recipe you are going to have a much better idea of how to do it.
All you need to do is use some olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil, and castor oil. This soap is still therapeutic with the main scent being coconut which helps to calm and clear the mind.
Shea Butter Soap
Another aromatherapy soap recipe that you are surely going to want to try out is for Shea butter soap. The great thing about this soap is that it is relaxing, but the Shea butter is extremely moisturizing and so especially for those people with dry, chapped skin, this soap is going to be perfect.
The last thing that you want to do when you have dry skin is use soap that is just going to be even more drying and leave the skin tight and dry, and the Shea butter in this soap recipe is going to make sure that this does not happen.
For this aromatherapy soap recipe you are going to need 32 oz. coconut oil, 40 oz. Shea butter, 10.47 oz. lye and 27 oz. of water. Then you want to melt the fats in a big stainless steel pot, and you should have one that is specifically for soap making because you are really not going to want to use this same pot that you made soap in to cook your pasta tomorrow night.
Then for this recipe you want to keep it on low, and when the lye mixture is cool enough it gets added to the fats and the mixture needs to be stirred. After this, you just continue to stir until it is thick and creamy looking and then add the scent in.
