What is a Text Ad Exchange?

Monday, August 31st, 2009

A text ad exchange has similarities to Traffic Exchanges & Safelists, in that you earn points by reading other peoples ads and can swap those points for your own advertising. You can earn points in a number of ways. Firstly there are the text ads, which are a single line of text (100 chars). If you find one interesting click on it, and the site that is being promoted will open. When you have viewed that site for more than 10 seconds you will be awarded points to go towards your own advertising. HTML ads work in the same way.

You can add banners to a text ad exchange and can earn points by clicking on any banners on the text ad exchange and viewing the promoted site for more than 10 seconds. Banners appear on the text ad exchange itself and whenever someone clicks on a credit link in a solo ad (see below), they appear at the top of the window.

Guaranteed Traffic Links are a great feature of text ad exchanges. They guarantee a number of unique visitors to your site. They are available in 50, 100 & 200 views. The traffic links are featured on the text ad exchange and can be clicked on to earn points. You can only earn points from each traffic link once and if someone clicks on your traffic link more than once, it will only count as one view. That way it guarantees you will get a set number of unique visitors to your site.

You can swap your points for a solo ad to all the members of the text ad exchange’s contact email addresses. We send a maximum of 5 solo ads a day at THE Text Ad Exchange (some text ad exchanges send a lot more!) and don’t send them all at the same time of day so that each ad gets the attention it deserves. Each solo ad has a credit link at the bottom which links to the site being promoted and earns you points. Solo ads earn you the most amount of points for a click so people like to click on solo ads.

When you login to a text ad exchange an ad is displayed for 10 seconds. You can swap your points for one of these login ads for a number of views (not all text ad exchange have this feature). When you have logged in to the text ad exchange you will see a navigation bar on the left of the window. You can add your own navigation button to the menu for a period of 7 days in exchange for points.

One other way of earning points is to refer other members to the site. You will earn points every time they log in and a percentage of the points that they earn. You will also earn commission on your referrals upgrades and ongoing advertising purchases. So referring others is a great way of getting free traffic & commissions.

If you don’t feel you have the time to be clicking on lots of ads to earn points you also have the option to buy points and advertising at text ad exchanges.

Some other features of the sites are, Downline Builder, Viral URL Cloaker, Weekly Draw for free advertising, Email Your Referrals, Plus More are added all the time.

There are two levels of membership at THE Text Ad Exchange, Free & Pro. Pro membership means you receive more points when you click on ads, free points each month, higher commission levels, more URL cloaker links, ability to save more ads, email your referrals more often and a pro bonus section. You can pay to upgrade to pro or can swap points for a free pro upgrade.

I hope that gives you a good overview of a text ad exchange. When you reduce it down to the basics it’s a case of you look at my site and I’ll look at yours. So you need to make sure your site catches peoples attention pretty quickly. Often a splash page of some sort is the best way of doing this. Also you need to realise that often people wont pay attention to a site until they have come across it a number of times and curiosity get the better of them! So you need to advertise constantly to get the best results. If you have a good landing page and advertise consistently you will get results from text ad exchanges. I know, I have, and that’s why I decided to set up THE Text Ad Exchange.

My name is Seb Brown and I run THE Text Ad Exchange which is a free advertising site.

Working With Trades

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Are you thinking of doing a minor or major renovation? Are you doing some of the work yourself or hiring out with a general contractor? If you are hiring a general contractor then you can expect a much higher cost then organizing the job yourself. At the same time a good general contractor can save you time and a lot of grief.

If you are going to act as the general contractor then you will need to hire out any sub-trades for the jobs you are not capable of doing yourself. I have been an Edmonton plumber for many years now and find that most people can tackle a lot of the smaller jobs themselves, but it is in your best interest to hire professionals for the larger ones.

Before you start the process of hiring you need to put together a list of requirements that you expect to get from each of the trades you want to hire. As a very busy Edmonton plumber I find that some homeowners do end up wasting time. It is in your best interest to have everything laid out ahead of time. If you call a trade and do not have the plans ready you can expect some form of service charge, so if you want to save that money make sure you have a designer or have made a design yourself. Also get your plans in order with the city your town you live in prior to calling on the trades. This way if the city requires you to change something then the trades you have hired will not be charging you extras for the changes to the quotes you have received.

When hiring trades look for the following:

Licensed

Qualifications

References

Testimonials

And make sure they are going to pull permits for you. Any trade that feels they do not have to pull permits is possibly not in your best interest. They might not be able to pull permits for whatever reason, therefore they will try to convince you not to pull permits. These people are maybe fly by night contractors.  For a list of potential contractors check out home and car repair.

Also know that when you hire a trade you will want some form of contract. Within that contract you will have what is expected from you and what you expect from them. Remember that if you add anything on you will be charged extra. It might be in your best interest to ask how much something will cost prior to letting your hired trade start doing that change to the project.

Following inflation reports

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

There are many reasons to follow inflation measures aside from simply staying ahead of price hikes on cars, refrigerators and other big ticket items, which by itself can save you thousands of dollars over years of planning. Excessive inflation is bad for more than just your monthly budget. It’s also very bad for many stock investments as it puts pressure on corporate profits and decreases real dividend yields. And while high inflation is a very bad thing, a big drop in inflation can be the first sign that things are going bad economically. A sign of an exceptionally big economic downturn is when the inflation indicators start to show the opposite effect, dropping prices or “deflation.”

If you’re interested in getting ahead of the curve in spotting inflation, the best bet is to go to the source. The fundamental source of most inflation is simple - more money chasing the same number of goods or, as economists put it, an increase in the money supply. Fortunately, the Federal Reserve releases reports on the money supply every Thursday. Moderate inflation is usually considered about 2%. When you see money supply growing faster than the growth rate of the economy plus about 2%, you can expect higher than moderate inflation.

The second leading indicator of rising retail prices is the wholesale price level and once a month the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports on that with the Producer Price Index series. The Producer Price Index, or PPI, is actually a series of indexes or statistics for finished goods, those ready to be sold; intermediate goods, such as parts that still need assembled into finished products; and crude goods, which are basically commodities that haven’t had much processing beyond being dug out of the ground or harvested from the field.

Another advance figure is the monthly Import and Export Price Indexes from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Because the earliest stages of inflation can affect the foreign currency markets, inflation often shows up quicker in imports than on retail shelves.

Ultimately the number you’ll be most intersted in is the Consumer Price Index or CPI, the main measure of price inflation at the retail level. Like the PPI, the CPI is actually a series of indexes that measure prices based on different baskets of goods. The most important number for investment purposes is the core CPI-U, a number based on urban prices for goods excluding food and energy. For personal purposes you may want to consider the full CPI-U, including food and energy, but remember that these numbers are very volatile from month to month, so you should do any planning based on long term trends, not a one time spike (or drop) in prices.

To keep completely up to date on inflation, you’ll want to follow the Federal Reserve’s Money Supply figures weekly and the various economic indicators released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which also releases the monthly jobs report, another very important number for both investors and workers.

It’s Time To Drop Extra Flab With A Real Diet

It’s Time To Lose Extra Flab With A Real Diet

The time honored way to diet is the traditional calorie diet plan , where you simply count your calories and try to keep the total amount of calories ingested below a certain amount. Normally, that is between 2,000 and 2,500 calories per day. But is this really a good strategy? Not all calories are the same - some are too high in fat, or provide little in the way of real nutrition, what we call ‘empty calories’.

It is always a good idea to follow a balanced approach, mixing carbohydrates, fats and proteins in a healthy balance. You don’t want too many of your calories to come from high-fat foods, for instance in your calorie diet plan. That would raise your cholesterol levels.

Consequently, you don’t want an all-carb approach either. Many carbohydrates are quickly metabolized to sugars, which can get your insulin levels out of whack, causing you to gain weight. You put yourself at higher risk of diabetes as well. If you want to use a calorie diet plan, use common sense and eat a variety of food types.

Do you like carbs? Are you addicted to carbs? Is there such a thing as a carbohydrate addicts diet? Not really, but if you are a starch lover who is put out with all the talk about high-protein diets, here is some advice you can use.

Meats that are high in saturated fats, like sausage, bacon and some cuts of beef should be avoided. Instead, try turkey or chicken; when choosing steaks at the supermarket, go for the leaner cuts.

There is help available on the internet for those pursuing a low cholesterol diet plan . Try one of the many fine web-based diet regimens - you’ll find it works much better than trying to go it alone. You can sign up for one of these programs for a very reasonable cost, follow the advice and you soon find that you’ve dropped that weight and your high cholesterol levels will fall, as well.

Silence

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Have you ever really enjoyed silence? I mean really enjoying being alone, with nothing to do but the simple act of just being. Well I’m proud to think as myself as a happy silence lover, but it wasn’t until this Wednesday at my Akumal villa that I realized how much I enjoyed having nothing to listen at but silence, for a moment there I couldn’t even heard the sea, I completely blocked them from my senses.

Lying on a sandy beach at a spring sunny day, with a delicious refreshing mist, a strange inclined sunlight which more often than not makes you squint, and a blank head. How could anything be more enjoyable than a blank mind in paradise? How would anyone enjoy paradise with unsolved issues on their mind. How would anyone rest while dreaming? Ever since I’ve moved to this Akumal villa I’ve been having so much recall dreams, every one of them I remember and as much as I tried I cannot decipher them. Their location is often a different one and many of the characters are people I know. How then is it that I can put my mind on blank?

The thing that concerns me today is not the stuff I haven’t solve in my mind, I mean I’m an puberty who has many things to make up before turning 35, what I want to know is how do I program myself not to think, to completely block my head. It only happens when I’m at this Akumal villa, more specifically on Akumal’s bay beach and only when I’m alone lying on the sandy beach.

The problem with most Denver Limousine Companies is that many services are simply unreliable or unprofessional. You need to find a company that offers an “On Time Guarantee” and that has a great demeanor over the phone. This is a sure way to tell if a limo service is professional. Having the “On Time Guarantee” gives you the ability to get a major discount of the cost of the limousine service should your chauffeur show up late. So don’t be left standing alone and waiting for your vehicle – find the limousine in Denver, CO that has an on time guarantee. So do your research when looking for a limo in Colorado. Don’t go for a cheap limo service and wind up stuck at the airport. You’ll be glad you paid a little more for good service. You’ll have peace of mind knowing that you did the proper research. Go out and enjoy your limo ride!

You should also beware of Denver Limo companies with ultra low rates, the companies are trying to undercut the legitimate companies and in many cases they show up late and with a vehicle that is in miserable shape. After all, what good is paying $30 for a ride to the airport and then having your driver show up 1 hour late? This could cause you to miss your flight and wind up costing you hundreds of dollars more. If you want to save money, don’t waste your cash on stretch limousines, these gaudy vehicles are no longer the choice of intelligent businessmen and women. If you are traveling in a group – you should reserve a 6 passenger SUV. All of the top Denver Limousine companies have these vehicles and they are great for getting around the city. Plus you won’t look too pretentious when pulling up in a nice, discreet black SUV. If there is a major snowstorm in Denver, you can rely on these 4×4 SUVs to get you to your destination.

Many folks who are going skiing love the ability of having a driver take them up through the mountain passes without breaking a sweat. The best part about these limousine SUV’s is the fact that they have a rack that will hold your skis, snow boards and other gear you need to take to the mountains. Even in the summer, you can take your fishing, hunting or camping gear with you and still have plenty of room for 6 passengers. You’ll be able to focus on playing and forget about driving!

Make sure that you limo comes with complimentary bottled water and that your chauffeur wears a black suit and tie. These are good signs of a professional limo service. One of the best limo services in the state of Colorado is Wolfe Limousine, they are consistently reported as having the best vehicles and the best drivers. Wolfe Limousine offers an “On Time Guarantee” and they have nice, new black 4 x 4 SUV’s. You can find them among other Denver limo companies online by searching Wolfe Limousine Colorado in Google, Bing or Yahoo search engines. This city is full of things to see and do, and what better way to see these sights than in a Denver limousine? Only limo companies that have a history of being reliable will gain repeat customers. Watch out for companies who have a history of being late. Only a few select companies offer the on time guarantee. Don’t forget to check any limo company’s record with the BBB.
